we had a great stay at hodgkinsons. the deluxe king room was spacious and very comfortable. the location is perfect for exploring the peak district. A standout moment was when neil prepared hot sandwiches for us before we left both mornings. what a thoughtful touch! everything was spotlessly clean, and you could easily refill tea and coffee supplies.

We had an amazing stay with friends at this lovely hotel. We enjoyed cycling around the stunning Peak District and had a relaxing stroll along the river that led us to Matlock Village. The hotel provides a warm welcome, spotlessly clean rooms, and fantastic breakfast options. The evening meal is a must-try. Highly recommend making reservations for dinner as it's a popular spot!
The only downside was the steep hill to access the hotel car park, which can be a bit challenging for some guests.

loved the mix of old historic decor and modern facilities. the atmosphere was really nice, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. the food was great too, especially breakfast, so tasty! it was an amazing stay overall, and I would definitely come back.
the parking was a bit tight, and it was noisy outside with the street traffic. also, the shower was kinda small and awkward.

We spent 2 nights in this lovely old building. The room was bright and spacious, and we were impressed by how clean everything was. The breakfast was super tasty, and the owners were really helpful with local tips for walking. The only thing was that the restaurant was a bit quiet since we were the only ones there for dinner.
